Sorin Preda, Managing Director Global Vision, is one of the founding members of Cricket Romania. Many would perhaps wonder “Why cricket?”

First, it was the sports that taught him perseverance, hard work and determination: football, volleyball, and wushu (two times national vice champion).

Then, it was the corporate world that taught him ethics, team work, and value-based management. Motorola and Vodafone were stepping stones to what will become his innate structure as effective manager and visionary mind.

Now, it is the highly successful entrepreneurship that tests his steadfast commitment and leadership every day. Global Vision, his brainchild and strategically grown company, represents, by far, his most rewarding professional challenge to date.

And somewhere in between he turned back to the world that he loves so much: the world of athletic competitions that teaches him to push his own limits to levels unknown before. Since 2006, Sorin is back in the athletic movement: marathons, triathlons, mountain biking marathons and Iron Man competitions. And it seems like he never stopped.

With such an athletic background that is yet to be completed, Sorin Preda’s involvement in Cricket Romania project seems only natural and inherent.

“I do believe that cricket could be the next big thing in the Romanian athletics if only because our national sport is oina, a fancy Romanian word for the old beautiful game of cricket. I feel we need the combination of precision, grace and power necessary to successfully compete in a cricket competition and for that I am willing to get myself involved and support the project 100%.”
